ABOUT THIS REFERENCE

The guide behind the profiles

Adapted from GS Federal’s Emerging Drugs Reference Guide by Category, second edition with additions dated October 24, 2026. Each profile includes links to the sources cited for its category, including DEA, the Federal Register, CFSRE, WHO, UNODC, CDC and FDA.

THC-H, THC-jD and Delta Extrax Lights Out were added on October 24, 2026, using published research, the manufacturer’s listing and federal law. Their profiles include separate sources and review dates.

Information reflects each profile’s review date or the guide date. Proposed actions are separate from active schedules. “Not confirmed” does not mean a substance is legal. State laws may differ.

How to read the testing and laboratory information

Drug-sample tests and tests of human specimens answer different questions. Results depend on the method and the substances included in a laboratory’s panel. A negative screen does not rule out exposure.

CFSRE figures are identifications in submitted specimens and drug materials. NFLIS counts identifications in seized evidence; query dates differ. DEA TOX reports selected biological specimens submitted for testing. These are not population prevalence estimates. Detection in a fatal case does not establish that the detected substance caused the death.

LC-MS/MS means liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry. CFSRE testing tiers are laboratory recommendations, not measures of potency or legal schedules.
